Mental Health waiting list over 6 months

As many of our counsellors work privately as well as for the NHS they mention that waiting times to see someone for mental health problem will probably take around 6months.
Other times when visiting your GP you can be given anti depressants and when taken for long periods of time can cause panic attacks and weight gain problems.
People that suffer substance misuse problems and do not have a address will find this process a lot harder. Nick Clegg has used mental health funding and the demand of this service as a part of his lib dems manifesto if he wins the next general election, though a budget that's been decimated by a coalition government can this budget be enough to keep these services afloat.
