The resort made national headlines yesterday when a map called Longer Lives, from Public Health England, showed the town was second worst in the country for early deaths overall and highest for premature deaths from lung disease and liver disease.It has an overall rate of 432.4 premature deaths per 100,000 – putting it second just behind Manchester.
Councils within the North of the UK were given a budget to tackle rising obesity problems and drop in centres were created to support people who did not want to have surgery, the cost of supper obese patients on the health service is around £5billion a year and rising.

If you do not have a metabolic problem then exercise and good nutrition is the way to tackle obesity. The main problem slimmers have with this is the amount of hidden sugars in foods, the key to this is don't buy anything with an advert and stick too non marketed/ advertised foods. Weight watchers which does not consider itself to be a diet according to its website and the problem with Weight Watchers is that maintaining proper nutrition is a distant second to shedding pounds and being Thinner does not necessarily mean healthier.
