Mental activity key to healthy brain ageing

Dr Anne Fabiny chief of geriatrics health alliance & Professor at Harvard Medical school Suggests certain techniques that will keep you're brain attuned & fully functioning in later life.

Brain training

Dr Fabiney stated that making yourself complete difficult mental tasks such as learning a language or going to a city that you have not been before and finding a route through reading maps. This type of brain training builds neuron pathways in the brain which strengthen the brain and allowing this type of activity builds denser networks of connections between brain cells and strengthening cognitive reserve. Dr Fabiney also stated that social isolation can cause ageing in brain cells so it is good to interact and communicate with a diverse range of people to increase understanding and ability which will intern strengthen neuron pathways in the brain.
