Own case files Ms L was 41 with two children but had since been sterilised. in the last 18 months her periods had become very heavy and painful but still regular, however in the last 2 months the bleeding had occured every 10 days and was heavy and clotted. She had tried a hormone coil and pills but bothe were unsatisfactory. she was started on a of herbs designed to balance the hormones and also a small bottle to use if necessary during her period to relieve cramping and pain. This was conitinued over a period of three months buy which time the periods had returned to a 28 day pattern and of a normal severity. She immediately stopped the traetment and had a slight reoccurence 6 months later, but a further months tonic rectified this.
