Samantha Phillis
I believe very strongly that every individual has the ability and right to make their own decisions in life and that provided with a supportive environment people will find their own fulfilling journey. I feel counselling is not about providing “answers” to individuals problems but looking at the whole person & whole situation and allowing clients to explore who they without the judgement & guilt which sometimes weigh us down and stifle our growth.
I am a person-centred counsellor with 8 years post-qualification experience. Before I qualified as a Counsellor I completed a Psychology degree and then worked within the finance industry for 6 years. Following qualification I worked within education with children and teenagers.
I now work evenings & weekends as a Private Counsellor and work for the NHS in a GP surgery as a Practice Counsellor .
I am a member of the BACP and receive regular supervision and continuing professional development and follow the BACP guidelines and code of ethics. I am also a member of the Faculty of Healthcare Counsellors & Psychotherapists (FHCP) and Association for Independent Practitioners (AIP).
