About 6m people - 10% of the country - currently live in areas with fluoridated water supplies. Though there is pressure from a government public health authority for the countries whole water supply to be laced with this chemical.
What is fluoride and why is it bad for our health?
Fluoride is a bi product of fluoxetine a known product in antidepressants. Fluoxetine is the generic name for the medication, and Prozac is one brand under which that medication is sold . Fluoxetine is a fluoride-containing compound, but fluoride is not the main component of that compound. Fluorine is a component of some medications to decrease the rate at which the body can break down the medication and allowing its effects to last longer.
Flourine is contained within Prozac as compound F3N.
Prozac is obviously a chemical compound which like many medicines, is alien to the infrastructure of the human body. Therefore it should be consumed with care, or preferably not at all.If the human body breaks Prozac down into it's component parts, then obviously Fluorine will do damage. Water fluoridation has been banned in many countries including: China, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Japan.
Study showing effects of Fluoride on Cognitive brain functioning in children
Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and China Medical University in Shenyang for the first time combined 27 studies and found strong indications that fluoride may adversely affect cognitive development in children. Based on the findings, the authors say that this risk should not be ignored, and that more research on fluoride’s impact on the developing brain is warranted.
