Diabetes hits 3 million

People with Type 2 Diabetes has hit the 3 million mark now and this figure is still increasing. An estimated seven million people are at high risk of Type 2 diabetes in the UK and these extreme cases normally lead to the inevitable foot amputations costing the NHS billions of pounds each year.

Most of these cases are Type 2 diabetes, caused by the UK's ageing population and rapidly rising numbers of overweight and obese people. Hidden sugars, additives & trans fats do have a part to play, aswel eating fresh produce which is very expensive, explaining why there is a greater obesity in poorer areas.
