Stockport Physiotherapy

In Peak Health’s Stockport clinic is based in Offerton on Dialstone Lane at the Cenacle Treatment Centre. This clinic started off at Ryley Mount Consulting Rooms near Stepping Hill hospital, where we developed close working links with Stockport’s leading orthopaedic consultants. When the consulting rooms were sold, the consultants formed Manchester Orthopaedic group (MOG) of which In Peak Health is now a member. This has allowed us to continue the close relationship with the consultants should onward referral be necessary. We work with consultants who have links at Stepping Hill Hospital, the BMI Alexandra in Cheadle and the Spire Regency in Macclesfield to name but a few. For more Information on MOG see our links page.

StockportOur location just off the A6 means we are easy to access from most areas of Stockport. We are under 2 miles from Hazel Grove and Marple, under 4 miles from Bramhall, Marple Bridge, Romley, Poynton, High Lane, and Bredbury and 6 miles and under from Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Didsbury and Woodley.

Our facilities at the Cenacle Treatment Centre include off road parking area in front of the clinic (or on road parking along Dialstone lane). There are a couple of shallow steps up into the centre but a ramp can be put in place if needed (please let us know when booking your appointment if required). Inside the clinic you will be met at reception by either Lewis or Janette (who own the centre) and be invited to take a seat in the waiting room. Once inside the clinic everything is on one level. Our facilities here include a fully equipped treatment room and a larger room that we hold our physiotherapist-led Pilates classes.

Our Pilates classes are held weekly on a Wednesday evening (between 7pm and 8pm) and are ran by a fully qualified Physiotherapist. The depth of knowledge and delivery of the session is second to none. The classes are held in small groups of up to 12 so everyone can be supervised to a high level. We do offer smaller group sessions (up to 4) and even private one-to-one sessions for those clients that require more input or confidence before they enter the class situation. So all your needs are catered for from the beginner to the more advance and active. The classes can be used as part of your rehabilitation process or as a regular pary of your training or for functional benefit.

Pilates can benefit most of us whether we carry out regular sports activities where it will bulid up your core and help with body control and strength and improve performance. Or if you are more sedentary but struggling with daily activities such as walking, gardening, ad household jobs (due to pain or weakness). Pilates will help you to build up strength and flexibility to improve your fitness for these tasks. Please call 01663744552 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. Injuries that sports people present with vary vastly from sprained ankles, biomenchanical problems, soft tissue injuries to knees, hips, shoulders, elbow and hands. The main difference with sports people are the forces that their bodies undergo in their chosen sport. This has to be accounted for in the rehabilitation process and be specific to the sport undertaken, whatever it is. So an individual approach to treatment and rehabilitation is key and this is what we strive for to get you back to your sport quickly and performing better than ever.

As part of our commitment to your care on discharge we will send a discharge report to your GP outlining your diagnosis, treatment and outcome. We will obtain your permission for this, but it is important so your GP is aware of the treatment that has been carried out.

If onward referral is required such as further investigations or assistance from another healthcare professional (e.g. insoles etc.) We will always try and provide a recommendation and if required a letter to the professional to inform them of our findings. Again we believe this is part of our commitment to you for you to receive the best care and advice that is available.

On discharge you will be asked if you will fill in a feedback questionnaire. This is very important to us in order to continually re-evaluate our practice. We strive to offer a quality service and understand that this is an ever-changing field and our patients offer us an important insight into their experiences at the practice.
