Mussarrat Butt
In 1999, I trained as a reiki practitioner, which is a form of energetic healing. Reiki developed my interest further of how holistic therapies could be used to support health and well being.
In 2002, I completed a Higher National Diploma in Health and Holistic Therapies which involved the study of a range of complementary therapies including nutrition, aromatherapy, massage and reflexology. I then worked as a holistic therapist offering reiki, Indian Head Massage, reflexology and aromatherapy treatments. From 2002-2007, I became a lecturer at Stockport College and taught a range of subjects in holistic therapies and health sciences.
My main passion however lies with food and diet and I believe that nutrition is the foundation for nurturing a healthy body and mind. There are many diseases and disorders where imbalanced nutrition is a contributory factor. My aim is to promote awareness of how imbalanced nutrition during the lifetime of the individual has contributed to the current state of imbalance within the body.
From a very young age I have had a keen interest in food and cooking. I have developed this interest further through the study of nutrition to be able to provide practical nutritional support which helps individuals nurture their body and mind using foods which reduce cravings and promote a sense of well being.
I am qualified in natural nutritional therapy and I have a Diploma in Natural Nutrition (D.N.N). I am also a member of the Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTP) .
